Abstract:
The Cr coating in the gun barrel during firing will be damaged and the service life of barrel will be reduced under the combined effect of multiple factors. There are numerous studies on service life of gun barrels, but there is little literature to systematically analyze the current status of the Cr coating. Especially from the damage degree of various damage factors in different damage stages. Through a large number of literatures combing and analysis, we found that each damage factor has a different degree of damage to the Cr coating failure in the different damage stages of the gun bore: thermal factors are more likely to cause damage to Cr coatings in the cracking stage; the combined damage of all factors in the crack extension stage; mechanical factors are more likely to cause damage to Cr coating in the peeling stage; chemical factors contribute more to the damage of the gun bore after the exposure of the gun steel.
