Abstract:
In view of the actual situation that there are many users with both zero and low power in the public transformer area, a new method to detect the abnormal electricity consumption of this situation has been proposed to this paper. This method is based on Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD). In order to improve the efficiency of detection, the distance between the user powers sequence and the line loss powers time series were computed firstly to get the preliminary suspected users. After that, the time series of electricity consumption of these users and the line loss was decomposed adaptive by EMD method. By analyzing the change trend and correlation between high-frequency components obtained by EMD decomposition, the abnormal electricity consumption was calibrated. The test results of field cases indicate that the proposed method is effective against detecting the abnormal electricity consumption.
