Abstract:
More deep directional wells will be drilled to meet the word’s increasing demands for oil and gas. In order to measure the wellbore trajectory parameters (inclination, azimuth and tool face angle) during direction drilling in deep wells, a high temperature wired MWD system was developed. This MWD system includes surface subsystem and downhole subsystem, and the two subsystems are connected by armored cable. Field test shows that, the temperature resistance of the wired MWD exceeds 260 ℃ for over 8 hours. The field application results validate the accuracy and reliability of the wired MWD in wells with depth up to 8000m.
