Abstract:
In the airborne electronic hardware (AEH) certification, the manufacturers often use different verification strategies, which make it difficult to fully show compliance to RTCA/DO-254 during certification. This paper make a thorough analysis and comparison of verification methods commonly used in certification, comprehensively considering various factors such as safety, design complexity, cost, program schedule, etc.. This paper proposes a AEH verification strategy based on different design assurance level (DAL). This strategy has been used in the certification of civil aircraft AEH, and has been gradually accepted by certification authority and industry.
