Abstract:
One of the main causes of failures in wind turbines are faults in the power electronics. In order to identify the causes of these faults, a full-scale test rig with a maximum power of 10 MW has been set up at the IALB. There, entire switch cabinets can be tested under realistic climatic conditions and with varying electrical loads. For the development of test sequences, the validation of calculation models and the conduct of lower power experiments a 300 kW test rig has been set up analogously. The goal of this work is to show the function principle of an emulation of a wind turbine generator with an inverter. Additionally, a simulation model has been built, to pre-investigate the entire system.
