Abstract:
The Dual Active Bridge (DAB) is a commonly used topology for bidirectional DC-DC converters. This paper presents the functionality of the DAB with Phase Shift Modulation (PSM). Especially the simulation and analysis of the commutation process with the PSM at different loads and its effect on the power losses with MOSFETs is in the focus of this work. Therefore, a MATLAB/Simulink simulation of a particular DAB is used to analyze and understand the commutation process. In addition, measurements at a real DAB application were performed to investigate the behavior in practice.
