Abstract:
The increasing grid integration of climate-friendly energy production from wind turbines requires innovative approaches in their control strategy to keep a stable grid operation despite of shut-down power plants. Therefore, this paper points out the conversion from current wind-dependent grid feed-in to a sophisticated grid-demanded power point tracking (GPPT) control method for wind turbines offering the provision of power plant equal ancillary services. Furthermore, the developed control strategy was successfully validated on a test bench, so that it may probably even run on real wind turbines.
