Abstract:
Due to the stagnating construction of onshore wind farms, the grid integration of offshore wind farms becomes more and more important. In this work one method for integrating an offshore windfarm into a point-to-point HVDC transmission link and for extending this structure to a multi-terminal HVDC grid is shown. The power converter stations are controlled by a modified decentralised control approach. To validate the proposed structure, the multi-terminal DC grid structure is set up on a low voltage DC grid test stand and different operating scenarios are analysed.
