Abstract:
Rotor eccentricity is a common mechanical problem in motors. This paper proposes an eccentricity vibration suppression strategy for multi-module synchronous motors by reducing the unbalanced magnetic pull (UMP) caused by eccentricity. Analytical expressions of the UMP and optimal compensation currents under eccentricity conditions are deducted in this paper. Simulation verification implemented on a lowcoupling four-module motor indicates that, with the injection of the compensation winding currents, the eccentricity UMP can be approximately suppressed to zero without influencing the output torque.
