Research on the Application of Optical Port Isolation Identification Tools for Intelligent Equipments

Abstract:
At present, smart substations are popularly used across China, and the case that optical fibers are used as transmission mediums for IEDs in ordinary substations can be seen more and more frequently. In this paper, a new secondary isolation tool is used to solve the problem that the matching of an optical fiber with its slot can only be identified through an identification tag on the optical fiber in the process of optical fiber isolation and restoration, which leads to multiple repeated checks, thereby improving the work efficiency. It is portable and good in practicability. Experiments show that the performing time can be significantly shortened and the performing accuracy can be increased if the new secondary isolation tool is used. Furthermore, it will not affect the quality of optical fiber transmission.
