Abstract:
This paper concludes four distinctive comparator designs and their advanced performance. A dynamic bias pre-amplifier with a tail capacitor is applied on a latch-type comparator to optimize energy consumption. This structure is further promoted by implementing floating inverter amplifier (FIA) with a reservoir capacitor to achieve better performance in lownoise as well as energy consumption. A novel structure energy scalable oscillator collapse based comparator was introduced to enhance the control of input signal. A new structure of current comparator based on low voltage high compliance current mirror is represented as well.The performances and analysis methods of abovementioned comparators are compared and discussed in this paper.
