Abstract:
As for the wireless sensor networks, clustering routing algorithm has the characteristics of convenient topology management, high efficiency and energy saving, simple data fusion and easy implementation, thus it has become the focus of current research of routing algorithm. However, the existing LEACH protocol has shortcomings in the establishment of cluster, cluster head selection, data communication. In order to tackle these problems, based on the existing protocol, this paper presented an enhanced routing protocol. The routing protocol adopts a distance-based approach to cluster head selection between the node and the base station and the relation between the residual energy of the present node and the mean energy of all nodes to transmit data between clusters. In comparison to the classic LEACH procedure, the simulation results reveal that and other improved LEACH protocols, the new protocol effectively balances the node energy consumption, greatly improves the amount of data transmission, improves the energy utilization and prolongs the network life cycle.
