Abstract:
With the rapid development of embedded operating system platforms, many applications have been developed to use resources on smart power-using devices to provide new or enhanced services. These applications can bring convenience to users, but they also have a high potential to misuse resources leading to privacy disclosure. Therefore, a fine-grained resource usage constraint mechanism that considers contextual information is needed. In this paper, an enhanced context-aware resource usage control system is proposed in the embedded operating system to automatically provide adaptive resource usage control when a specific context is detected according to a pre-configured policy, and a policy conflict mechanism is designed considering the policy conflict problem. In addition, to facilitate users with less knowledge in the field of embedded operating systems to configure policies rationally, this paper designs an auxiliary tool that can guide users to configure policies. The experimental results show that the smart power terminal using the mechanism in this paper can operate with lower power consumption and has little impact on the users' usage.
