Abstract:
Today, the role of renewable energy resources is more important than ever. Therefore, the efficiency of existing and new wind turbine generator systems (WTGS) should be optimised. The development of a structure of a digital twin for the drive train of a wind turbine is shown in this paper. For this purpose, a model of the wind turbine was developed. The model was evaluated in simulations using real measurement data of the wind speed from a research wind turbine. The digital twin for the drive train of the plant consists of a model of the rotor based on an unsteady BEM model and an extended Kalman filter for the generator. The simulation results show, that the implemented digital twin is capable to replicate the behaviour of the wind turbine.
