Abstract:
In three-phase current source PWM rectifier, 12-sector space vector pulse width modulation has been proposed in previous research to reduce the switching loss. However, it causes current distortion at sector boundaries, which will deteriorate the harmonics of input current and reduce rectifier efficiency. In this paper, the causes of current distortion are analyzed in detail, which lays a foundation for eliminating the distortion. Due to the position between carrier peak and sector switching point, there are two vector arrangements in a single carrier cycle when sectors transits, which further generate sharp changes in duty ratio in the driver signal and resulting in current distortions.
