Abstract:
This paper presents a method known as four-vector predictive current control (FV-MPCC). This method is applied to surface mount permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) drives and it enables better control of the motor. This method assigns the duration of three adjacent non-zero voltage vectors and zero voltage vectors by calculating the minimum total current ripple, and then synthesizes a target voltage vector within a control period using these four voltage vectors. Finally, verification results are given to demonstrate that the method can operate the motor more stably than the conventional three-vector MPCC method at medium and high speeds without increasing the switching frequency.
