Abstract:
Resilience of mobile networks and the guarantee of service continuity as well as the fulfillment of performance requirements is a challenging task. In this paper, we consider a mobile network and address this issue by optimizing resources at both network and physical layers. Specifically, by drawing on the works in [1], [2], we first define a network-slicing policy that effectively determines how many resources should be allocated to users. Then we look at the configuration of each base station’s beams and optimally configure them to provide users with high data rate in spite of events that may determine failures of base stations. Our results show that a suitable resource allocation can indeed substantially improve the resilience of the network to meet quality of service requirements.
