Abstract:
Silicon (Si)/Silicon Carbide (SiC) technology-based power modules have been evaluated by laboratory measurements in terms of inverter performance and efficiency. Inverter performance tests with a static load revealed that a single-gate driver solution can provide both, high performance and low switching noise. In addition to that, inverter/e-Drive tests have been carried out on power modules based on the Si/SiC technology. Motoric and generatoric efficiency maps have been elaborated. A maximum Si/SiC inverter efficiency more than 98 % was observed at high speed and low torque conditions.
