Abstract:
This article presents the design of a Single-Stage Isolated AC/DC converter used for charging an electric vehicle battery. The topology used is based on a Dual Active Bridge, an optimization was carried out in order to find the best control variables using Triple Phase Shift control while minimizing RMS current and ensuring soft switching in pursuance of minimize losses. The design steps used to simulate, size the converter and predict the losses are shown. Lastly, experimental results are presented proving a peak efficiency of 96.3% and high power density of the converter.
