Abstract:
This paper presents an integrated AC-DC converter that eliminates the need for large electrolytic capacitors, enhancing the lifespan of the power converter and improving power density. The proposed integrated converter, with reduced dependence on electrolytic capacitors, combines an LLC resonant topology with coupled inductors to achieve power factor correction and output regulation in a single stage. A dual-control scheme is employed, where PWM control minimizes bus voltage ripple, and frequency control regulates the output. This approach provides a compact, reliable, and efficient solution for low to medium power AC-DC applications. Experimental results demonstrate a high power factor and minimal ripple while significantly reduced electrolytic capacitors.
