Abstract:
Recent advances in Wide Band Gap (WBG) semiconductor technology have significantly enhanced the switching performance of power electronics equipment. In this study, we developed an ultra-thin inverter equipped with WBG semiconductors, achieving superior electrical characteristics and miniaturization compared to conventional inverters. This paper presents the evaluation results of our newly developed prototype inverter to improve switching characteristics. Specifically, we show the effect of surge voltage suppression on switching waveforms by reducing the main circuit inductance. The noise suppression effect is also discussed through a simple evaluation of the switching waveform using FFT analysis. Furthermore, the experimental results of actually driving a motor with the developed prototype inverter are presented. Finally, future prospects for this inverter are discussed.
