Abstract:
This article provides an in-depth review of existing methods for deriving the Small Signal Model (SSM) of the lossy Dual Active Bridge topology with Triple Phase Shift (TPS) modulation. This study describes comprehensively three methods: the Reduced Order Model (ROM), the Generalized Average Model (GAM), and the Discrete-Time Model (DTM).The methods were compared and validated by means of a simulation software. Thus, engineers can clearly understand which method can be used for a particular application. In addition, the described methods can be easily extended to any other “transformer-based” converters such as resonant converters and multi-port converters.
