Abstract:
As industries strive to reduce carbon footprints and optimize material usage, efficient busbar design is crucial to achieving environmental and economic goals. We propose an electrothermal coupling approach using numerico-analytical methods. The PEEC method, which is faster and easier-to implement than finite element methods, is combined with thermal energy balance equations for busbar sizing in a unique environment called InterConX2D. This approach enables rapid evaluation of electromagnetic and thermal phenomena, material optimization considering carbon footprint, and faster client response times. Results show computation time under 10 seconds and a possible reduction in material use, providing sustainable solutions for future power systems.
