Abstract:
A 24-pulse transformer is a type of electrical transformer configuration that is designed to reduce harmonic distortion in power systems. It is commonly used to improve the quality of power in applications where harmonic distortion can be a concern, such as in industrial settings, data centers, or other sensitive equipment installations. Designing a 24-pulse transformer is a complex engineering task that requires expertise in power electronics and transformer design. In this paper the optimum design of a high voltage high power 24 pulse transformer is discussed. Theoretically calculated parameters are practically verified using a 24-pulse transformer manufactured for a 200 kW, 5000 V DC isolated power supply to be used in remotely operated vehicle application. This proposal has been considered as the most suitable robust application for this application.
