Abstract:
An alternative switching loss measurement method (the so-called opposition method) has been proposed, but its accuracy has not yet been investigated and compared to the “standard” double pulse switching loss measurement method. This paper presents a quantitative methodology for accuracy analysis, focusing on the worst-case errors. An error analysis is performed for both the opposition method and the conventional double pulse test for a direct comparison. Based on the presented error chain, an operation strategy to improve the accuracy of the opposition method is also proposed.
