Abstract:
High-power three-level inverters suffer voltage distortion from narrow pulses at low modulation ratios, worsened by traditional SVPWM’s midpoint imbalance. This paper analyzes SVPWM’s pulse-generation mechanisms and proposes a dual-modulation-wave strategy with integrated midpoint voltage control. Simulations demonstrate complete narrow pulse elimination, enhanced harmonic performance, and simplified computation compared to SVPWM. The method balances practicality and effectiveness, addressing critical limitations in low-modulation-ratio operations for high-reliability applications.
