Abstract:
Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) inverters are utilized in Power Conversion Systems (PCS) in Energy Storage System (ESS) to achieve high efficiency and performance. This paper compares the performance of basic Neutral Point Clamped (INPC) and Active Neutral Point Clamped (ANPC) Inverters, two types of NPC inverters used in ESS PCS. INPC represents a conventional approach widely adopted by many companies, whereas ANPC is a recently introduced inverter that offers higher efficiency. These two inverters employ different components with distinct characteristics, which contribute to the superior efficiency of the ANPC circuit.
