Abstract:
This paper presents review of different control algorithms developed to control the DC voltage of the Vienna rectifier under no-load or partial load conditions. Even though the Vienna rectifier offers nearunity power factor with fewer switches, its unidirectional current flow complicates DC voltage regulation at partial loads. Various control strategies have been proposed in the literature to address this issue. The main objective of this paper is to discuss and compare these strategies based on the hardware requirement, control algorithm complexity, efficiency and performance during transient conditions such as load disturbances. The effectiveness of the reviewed methods is demonstrated through Typhoon HIL simulation software.
