Abstract:
The gyro effect is generally well known as a gyroscope sensor, but it is not very common to use it as an actuator. The gyro monorail is defined as a monorail that runs on a single rail using gyro effect. The largest advantage of the gyro monorail is that it runs on only a single rail and can run on different and existing tracks universally even at high speed, without any additional control. Despite its potential as a new means of transportation, its development had been absent for many years. Therefore, characteristics of the gyro monorail should be revealed at the modern level, exploring the possibility of its practical application. The purpose of this study is to verify the parameters of the gyro monorail and to produce the gyro monorail experiment. The gyro monorail is designed by examining various structures and selecting components. In addition, the lateral displacement and velocity of the gyro monorail body are measured and its stability is evaluated. The main cause of the falling is considered that the servo motor voltage is not appropriate applied before the fall. Therefore, it is expected that the improvement of mechanism and contact of balancing switch is bring further stability to the gyro monorail.
