Abstract:
By using 1-stage solutions to convert 48 Vdc to 1 V, further energy and CO2 savings are possible for high-density rack servers used in hyperscale data centres. However, precise comparisons are necessary to evaluate the differences. A 1-stage approach using an integrated, galvanically isolated, separated buck/boost topology (shortened as iisb(exp2)) can provide overall energy savings and avoid significantly higher point-of-load (PoL) circuit effort compared with other 1-stage solutions.
