Abstract:
Recently a novel compact uncooled thermal-IR camera for the spectral range of 8–14 micrometerm was presented having a field of view of 34deg × 13deg suited for vehicle driver assistance. The concept utilizes an eight-channel catadioptric design achieving F/1.4 and high angular resolution of 16 pixels/deg. Each channel images on a QQVGA bolometer array of a FLIR Lepton camera leading to a total resolution of 524 × 207 pixels after stitching, while keeping the thickness of the module below 5 mm.
