In the course of future GS-mark awards testing for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) is to be binding so that the harmful potential of these substances can be taken into account. The consequential requirements expected of manufacturers and GS test houses offer the necessary structuring leeway which, under given circumstances, allow differing product-specific valuations. Questions for instance are, which products or product parts actually are PAH relevant and how should the endangering potential be individually assessed.
This guideline for PAH assessment is valid for all kind of Electrical Products which are in directly contact (e. g. by touching) or in indirectly contact (e. g. by inhalation) with the user.
