This International Standard specifies marking, designation, tests and requirements for the sealed nickel-metal hydride cells and batteries used in industrial applications including stationary applications. Examples of applications for this standard are stationary applications like telecom, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), electrical energy storage systems, utility switching, and emergency power as well as motive applications like fork-lift trucks, golf carts, AGV, railways, and marin;, road vehicles are excluded. Part 1 of the series comprises the performance, Part 2 the safety of secondary cells and batteries.
