This pre-standard is applicable for distant voltage detectors to detect the presence or the absence of the operating voltage without contacting energised conductors used on towers of overhead lines in a defined distance to the conductor.
- for nominal voltages of 110 kV up to 420 kV
- for nominal frequencies of 16.7 Hz or from 50 Hz to 60 Hz
The requirements also apply for the use of distant voltage detectors in wet conditions.
Other types of voltage detectors are not covered by this standard.
