This standard applies to pressurized compartments (gas-filled compartments) of AC switchgear and controlgear with rated voltages above 1 kV up to and including 52 kV for indoor or outdoor installations with design pressure limited to a maximum of 300 kPa (relative). All gases stable and non-corrosive in the conditions that prevail inside the compartment are covered e.g. inert gases such as SF6 and nitrogen, or gases like Gas-filled compartments with design pressures higher than 300 kPa (relative) shall be designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with one or a combination of the following standards: EN 50052, EN 50064, EN 50068, EN 50069.
