This particular Standard specifies the minimum safety requirements for peritoneal dialysis equipment and amends in this field IEC 60601-1:2005 + A1:2012. These devices are intended for use either by medical staff or under the supervision of medical expertise, including peritoneal dialysis equipment operated by the patient. These particular requirements do not apply to dialysing solution, the tubing set, or to equipment solely intended for continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis equipment.
