Class/Status: Standard, valid
Released: 2023-12
VDE Art. No.: 0800915

This standard is applicable to safety-related electrical, electronic and programmable electronical systems (E/E/PES including subsystems and equipment) for railroad signaling applications. It is applicable to the functional safety of railway signaling systems. It does not address the occupational safety of personnel; this is the subject of other standards.
This standard describes procedures for robust decision making following the disclosure of a potenential safety deficiencies (PSM) in a system, and provides guidance on how to apply these procedures by
- Providing the procedural steps necessary to perform an assessment,
- citing appropriate designations, prerequisites, measures of PSM criticality, and avaluation of risk-reducing (RM) measures,
- basic principles are explained,
