This part of IEC 61169, which is a frame specification, provides information and rules for the preparation of design specifications for TNC series RF coaxial connectors with threaded coupling with a characteristic impedance of 50 O. This document prescribes the mating face dimensions for high performance Class 2 connectors, the dimensions of standard Class 0 test connectors, the measurement information, and the tests selected from IEC 61169-1 that apply to all design specifications for TNC series RF connectors. This document provides recommended performance characteristics to be considered when preparing a detail specification, and includes test plans and test requirements for evaluation levels M and H. TNC Series connectors used with all types of RF cables and microstrips in microwave transmission systems. Operating frequency is up to 11 GHz.
