This document is applicable to electromagnetic devices and electromagnetic components with a limited stroke for holding, lifting, moving, coupling or braking with a rated voltage of up to 1,000 V. This standard is not applicable to devices and electromagnetic components driven by electric motors, which are subject to special standards. This standard is not applicable to electromagnetic rail brake systems for rail vehicles. DIN EN 16207 is applicable in this case. The purpose of this standard is to define terms, technical characteristics, operating and environmental conditions, safety requirements and tests for electromagnetic devices and electromagnetic components. Electromagnetic devices and electromagnetic components utilize the force of an electrically generated magnetic field on a body.
