Diese VDE-Anwendungsregel beschreibt die Anforderungen an die Erfassung und Entsorgung von PV-Modulen über den Zeitraum von der Festlegung des ersten Gebrauchsendes einer PV-Anlage bis zur Bereitstellung der Sekundärrohstoffe. Dies umfasst die Elemente:
- Abbau und Sortierung für eine mögliche Wiederverwendung als Gebrauchtgerät;
- Erfassung, Logistik und Transport als Altgerät;
- Behandlung, Vorbereitung zur Wiederverwendung, Recycling und Verwertung von Altmodulen.
Diese VDE-Anwendungsregel bezieht sich nur auf kristalline Silizium-Photovoltaik-Module. Ausgeschlossen sind Anforderungen und Prüfungen für eine Wiederverwendung.
Photovoltaikmodule (PV-Module) unterliegen dem Anwendungsbereich der Richtlinie 2012/19/EU über Elektro- und Elektronik-Altgeräte (kurz: WEEE-Richtlinie). Darin und in DIN EN 50625 (VDE 0042-13-xx) (alle Teile) werden Anforderungen an die Erfassung, Behandlung, Recycling und Verwertung von Elektro-Altgeräten, unter anderem PV-Modulen, gestellt.
Ziele dieser Anwendungsregel sind, die gebrauchten Module oder Altmodule durch eine frühzeitige Selektierung für die Wiederverwendung oder Vorbereitung zu Wiederverwendung weiter zu nutzen, als auch Rezyklate aus der Behandlung zurückzugewinnen und im Sinne der Circular Economy wieder für hochwertige Produkte in den Kreislauf zurückzuführen.

This VDE Application Guide describes the requirements for the collection and disposal of PV modules over the period from the determination of the end of initial use of a PV system to the provision of secondary raw materials. This includes the following elements:
- Dismantling and sorting for possible reuse as used equipment;
- collection, logistics, and transport as end-of-life equipment;
- treatment, preparation for reuse, recycling, and recovery of end-of-life modules.
This VDE Application Guide applies only to crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules. Requirements and tests for reuse are excluded.
Photovoltaic modules (PV modules) fall within the scope of Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE Directive for short). This directive and DIN EN 50625 (VDE 0042-13-xx) (all parts) set out requirements for the collection, treatment, recycling, and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment, including PV modules.
The objectives of this Application Guide are to continute to use used or old modules through early selection for reuse or preparation for reuse, as well as to recover recyclates from treatment and return them to the cycle for high-quality products in line with the circular economy.
