Inhalt:
An airborne, P-band ice sounding radar is being developed at the Technical University of Denmark under ESA funding. The fully polarimetric radar features aperture synthesis and a multiple-phase center antenna supporting an experimental surface clutter suppression mode. This paper addresses the design and implementation of the system with special emphasis on the on-board aperture synthesis. In March 2008, the system will be functionally tested in Greenland, and during a proof-of-concept campaign in May 2008, data will be acquired over an appropriate ice sheet.
