Inhalt:
This paper presents results of a market research and state of the art electromagnetic resonant vibration energy harvesting devices. It is shown that for the implementation of the electromagnetic coupling several architectures are applied by numerous research facilities. Since extensive optimization calculations have not been applied to all practical architectures some of them are still operating well below their maximum power. To answer the question which architecture is best suited for applicable voltage and power levels respectively optimization calculations have been performed for each architecture. The results show that for optimized conditions the maximum possible output voltage can be increased by a factor of two and the output power can be increased by a factor of three only by choosing a proper architecture. Moreover techniques to increase the bandwidth will be discussed as well as active and passive tunable devices.
