This paper characterizes the antenna placement effects in car to car communication channels. With a three-dimensional ray tracing simulation tool the narrow- and wide-band channel characteristics are determined for various antenna positions and two typical motorway scenarios. The results show that the channel characteristics can be optimized by selecting the suitable antenna position.
