Inhalt:
More and more future satellites are using higher frequency bands such as Ka-Band up to Q/V-Band. These antennas require very high in-orbit thermo-mechanical stiffness, having in parallel a very low mass and a good RF-reflectivity. Recent developments at HPS aimed for a 1.2m Q/V-Band reflector with a weight of 3.0 kg only, a Dual Gridded Reflector for Ku/Ka-Band (1.2m diameter, 3.4 kg only), and a Dual Reflector antenna structure (0.7m main reflector, 4.0 kg only) for Ka-Band up to Q/V-Band. Supporting emerging structural elements will also be highlighted: RF-invisible struts, new grounding concepts for composite sandwich panels, porous facesheet material like Triax, CFRP honeycomb cores, or advanced modeling techniques for supporting the design phase.
