Wavelet coefficients of an image have significant correlation in not only magnitude but also in sign. So in this paper, a novel wavelet-based method is proposed for SAR image despeckling by considering both magnitude and sign correlation. Two kinds of images, synthetic speckled image and real SAR image, are used to verify the proposed method and the experiment results show that the despeckling method gets better performance in details preservation as well as in speckle suppression.
