In this paper we present an Ultra Wide Band (UWB) Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) designed and built for crop sensing. The data acquisition performed during summer 2011 on barley plots will be shown followed by the first results of the SAR processing carried out on the raw radar data. This work belongs to the VG-GAl project within the CROP.SENSe Consortium whose main goal is the estimation of barley biomass.
