This paper reports the development of a practical non-isolated high-boost converter using 12~24 VDC class low-voltage for renewable energy source. The proposed circuit is designed with a 500 W class cascade double boost converter to allow high-boost output gain, and a 300 W cascade buck-boost converter is additionally designed for auxiliary output. Operation characteristics of each stage are analysed and also the practicality of the proposed structure is verified through prototype test results. Efficiency performance was confirmed to be more than 94 % in the double boost stage, and over 95 % in the cascade buck-boost stage.
