In this paper we present a multilayer microstrip approach consisting several magnetic-wall waveguide (mwwg) slices of different width in order to model discontinuities in the field area of a microstrip line. In this case the influence of a microstrip via short is computed by applying the Foldy-Lax scattering method in each single layer which has been presented in. The proposed model is compared to other CAD models and full-wave simulations.
