Inhalt:
In this paper, a highly sensitive sensor for precise permittivity change detection of liquids is presented. The sensor is based on a planar half-wavelength (λ/2) microstrip line (MSL) resonator with a microfluidic container placed on top. The interaction between the electric field and the milliliter range water-glucose solutions under test can be observed measuring the shift of the resonant frequencies at about 2 GHz. Using the proposed near-field sensor, a very sensitive concentration of less than 0.01% of the relative amount content of glucose in water can be detected.
