Inhalt:
In this paper the application of a three-dimensional radar imaging system for surveillance of humans for safety and security applications is presented. Therefore, the threedimensional imaging radar combines the FMCW approach for range measurements with a multiple-input multiple-output technique for digital beamforming in two dimensions. With an orthogonal arrangement of the antenna arrays for transmit and receive, the angular information in azimuth and elevation direction is obtained. The presented measurement results show that the concept in its realized implementation is well suited for applications such as surveillance and monitoring of humans, which opens new opportunities in the safety and security sector.
